Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information & Security Officer

Job Summary: Provide leadership in the strategic planning, oversight, and management of the college’s information systems, including networks, servers, applications, and databases, while developing and maintaining the technical infrastructure. Additionally, ensure the protection of the organization’s IT infrastructure, networks, and systems from potential threats such as cyber-attacks, data breaches, and malicious software. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree and 8 years experience, including 5 years supervisory/management experience.*
*Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing Requirements: Valid driver's license.

Hiring Range: $183,094.00 - $244,125.00

Job Specific Task List:

  • Provide executive leadership and management for the College's computer infrastructure, overseeing the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, networking functions, cybersecurity, and various information and communication systems and projects, including voice, data, and imaging, across multiple campus locations. - (Essential)
  • Ensure the successful implementation and integration of comprehensive information management systems, encompassing student, financial, and human resources management, while also ensuring robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data and optimize operational efficiency. - (Essential)
  • Identify information service needs and assess their impact on system-wide College resources. Promote resource efficiency by developing relevant standards, incorporating cybersecurity considerations, and ensuring that infrastructure costs are factored into all information technology analyses. - (Essential)
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability by strategically coordinating, preparing, and managing the annual budget. This includes allocating funds for staff, operations, and campus-wide technology and equipment. Authorize expenditures and maintain overall control of the budget. - (Essential)
  • Ensure that the technical direction and development of business continuity, disaster recovery, incident response, cybersecurity, and crisis communication plans are integrated into the College’s Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) plans. - (Essential)
  • Hire, develop, motivate and evaluate staff consistent with organizational and strategic goals. - (Essential)
  • Facilitate communication among employees, departments and other key technology stakeholders. - (Essential)
  • Provide leadership in developing long-range planning strategies and supporting both distributed and centralized information technology services. - (Essential)
  • Implement and ensure information security measures for the College, its employees, and students, including protecting data, maintaining its integrity, and developing related policies and procedures. - (Essential)
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to design, evaluate, and enhance systems that support end users. Conduct assessments of college services, identify training needs for information technology users, and ensure the development, delivery, and availability of technology training. - (Essential)
  • Serve as a member of the President's Cabinet, requiring travel to all campuses and engagement with the external College community. The role also involves delivering presentations, public speaking, and providing an annual cybersecurity report to the board of trustees. - (Essential)
  • Work collaboratively with other senior administrators and external entities and individuals to ensure effective operation of the College; serve on College committees and represent the College in meetings of the Community and other educational institution and agencies as required; work with the College's General Counsel on issues related to technology. - (Essential)
