Job Summary: This position provides effective administrative support for student engagement, belonging, and Military and Veteran Affairs, and may also serve other units within the division as needed.

The role offers leadership and coordination to enhance students’ in-class and out-of-class learning experiences while promoting meaningful engagement within the HACC community. Responsibilities include coordinating community standards, holistic support programming, Military and Veteran Affairs initiatives, events, and other engagement opportunities that foster student success, retention, and persistence. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree and 4 years experience, or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job

Licensing Requirements:

- Valid driver's license.

Hiring Range: $44,213 - $49,740

Preferred Qualifications:

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and support a welcoming, student-centered campus environment
-Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating student-focused, on-campus events
-Experience managing event logistics, tracking budgets, and ensuring successful execution of programs in a dynamic environment
-Proficiency in computer applications and administrative systems
-Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
-Effective problem-solving skills and sound judgment
-Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
-Proactive, flexible, and adaptable approach to supporting a fast-paced office setting

Job Specific Task List:

  • Provides administrative support for Military & Veteran Affairs and Holistic Support and Engagement functions, including tracking budget lines, interacting with students, responding to inquiries, and managing communications. Responsibilities include scheduling meetings, processing contracts and purchase orders, arranging payments, and reserving campus spaces. This role utilizes strong communication and customer service skills to effectively support departmental operations and advance program initiatives. - (Essential)
  • Works independently and effectively manages projects assigned, demonstrating an ability to prioritize requests and organize the assigned workload; may assign and monitor work of student workers. - (Essential)
  • Processes and monitors personnel transactions and paperwork to hire, reappoint, and terminate department employees; assists with budget preparation; performs research. - (Essential)
  • Disseminates information that may require explanation and interpretation of established College and departmental policies and procedures, and directs individuals to sources of additional information. - (Essential)
  • Recognizes the opportunity for process improvement and participates in the implementation. Develop and implement assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness and impact of Student Engagement and Belonging & Holistic Support and Engagement programs and initiatives - (Essential)
  • May serve on inter-departmental and/ or college-wide committees. - (Essential)
  • Partner with departments like Wellness, Athletics, Retention & Engagement (WARE), Center for Global Opportunities & Education, Center for Male Engagement Initiatives, Student Access Services (SAS), Military & Veteran Affairs (MVA), Consultation, Advocacy, Referrals and Empowerment (CARE) Center, International Student Services (ISS), New Student Orientation (NSO), Advising, and Career Development & Transfer Services to provide a holistic approach to engagement and development opportunities to connect Community Standards & Holistic Support and Engagement at HACC. - (Essential)
  • Provides event support as needed; may require travel to other campuses. - (Essential)
  • Assists with the data management, tracking, and reporting of Community Standards and Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) cases within the Maxient database system - (Essential)
