Job Summary: The Prison Education Coordinator supports the educational programs within state and county correctional facilities by coordinating, organizing, and assisting with program logistics. This role involves collaborating closely with the Dean, Admissions, Financial Aid and other student support offices, as well as working within correctional environments to ensure program effectiveness and student success.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of the criminal justice system and reform issues, and willingness to learn more about these issues.
Licensing Requirements:
- Valid driver's license.

Hiring Range: Starting at $57,500

- Work with the Dean and HACC's of Admissions and Financial Aid offices to organize, track, and assess applications and financial aid documents. - (Essential)
- Enter the correctional facilities to advise Prison Education Program Coordinator (PEP) students and obtain application material (e.g., academic transcripts and completed FAFSAs). - (Essential)
- Creates a student-centered schedule with the department chain/Dean. - (Essential)
- Organize and maintain files in a confidential manner. - (Essential)
- Assist the Dean with enrollment projections, budget development, grant development and oversight, and compliance with federal and state regulations. - (Essential)
- Responds to questions and concerns from students, faculty, and Commonwealth representatives. - (Essential)
- Coordinate with prison staff, on scheduling classroom, advising and other student services. - (Essential)
- Assist in arranging and scheduling PEP events. - (Essential)
- Work with the Dean to monitor and order instructional supplies. - (Essential)
- Propose co-curricular activities and events to enhance the college experience for PEP students. - (Essential)
- Assist with logistics related to reentry programming, workforce courses, and special events. - (Essential)
- Enter and navigate correctional facilities, engaging residents and staff as needed by the Dean. - (Essential)
- Assist with the coordination of training for faculty and staff who enter the prison. - (Essential)
