Job Summary: Provides academic instruction and student academic support for the Civil Construction Technology program.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology or a related field.

3 years of recent professional experience in civil construction or heavy civil work such as: site development and earthwork; excavation and grading; utilities (water, sewer, stormwater); roadway, bridge, or infrastructure construction; construction inspection or field engineering.

Or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.

Licensing Requirements:

Valid Driver's License
PA Act-15 Clearance

Hiring Range: No less than $50,000

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology or a related field.

Prior teaching experience at a community college, technical school, apprenticeship or workforce development program, or college/university.

Industry credentials in engineering technology and/or construction.

Experience with construction-related software and equipment.

  • Provides academic support, advising, and career guidance to students including establishing and maintaining a schedule of office hours. - (Essential)
  • Participates in college governance by serving on joint, ad hoc, faculty, campus, division and discipline committees. - (Essential)
  • Participates in student recruitment activities and community outreach in support of the program. - (Essential)
  • Participates in professional growth activities and maintains awareness of new trends and developments within areas of instructional responsibility. - (Essential)
  • Coordinates, plans, organizes, and instructs academic courses according to approved course syllabus. Provides high quality and consistent academic instruction to students. Provides high quality academic support and advising to students. Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance requirements. Keeps students informed about their progress through prompt grading of assignments, labs, and other work. Maintains accurate and complete scholastic records, including attendance records. Maintain scheduled office hours. Ensures that assigned classes are held as scheduled. Organizes and maintains class work and assignments. Strives for the qualities delineated in the criteria for faculty evaluation used by the college. Is thoroughly familiar and complies with all college policies and procedures. - (Essential)

Pennsylvania Work Location Requirement: All work, teaching, meetings, and activities related to this position must be performed within the State of Pennsylvania. This position does not offer a remote work option.
