Job Summary: This position provides vision, leadership, planning, and administration of the College's student recreation and wellness programs with the purpose of engaging current and future college students and the community, increasing involvement of virtual students, and creating targeted activities for various populations of students. The incumbent coordinates and develops holistic recreation and wellness programs for all HACC campuses, including program awareness, budget management, and oversight of all recreation-related events and activities. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Hiring Range: $49,508 - $63,123

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in developing and implementing recreational and wellness programs.

Job Specific Task List:

  • Responsible for the development, awareness, and execution of the College's recreation and wellness programs for students, including intramurals, club sports, stand-alone programming, and experiential learning, with the intent of fostering student engagement and supporting wellness. - (Essential)
  • Applies expertise to develop programmatic initiatives that ensure an active presence of sporting activities and competitions on HACC campuses, intentionally designed to respond to student schedules and needs; aggressively recruits students to participate in sporting activities and competitions; manages multi-channel approaches to outreach, advertising, and increasing students awareness of these programs; creates and maintains advertising campaigns, publications, and other department related materials/reports for student distribution, recruiting purposes, and exposure to the College and community. - (Essential)
  • Schedules and manages virtual sports competition that addresses the needs of HACC's virtual student population. - (Essential)
  • Plans, schedules, and manages daily operations of the department, such as budget development and allocation, and evaluation, maintenance, and purchasing of equipment to support student recreation programs. - (Essential)
  • Provides oversight of recreation and wellness facilities maintenance and projects in collaboration with leadership and facilities staff. - (Essential)
  • Hires, supervises, trains, coaches, and evaluates staff; ensures employees follow policies and procedures and maintain a healthy and safe working environment. - (Essential)
  • Identifies and resolves problems that may occur with wellness, recreation, intramurals, or tournament activities; develops and ensures consistent application of rules and regulations, student registration processes, and other policies and processes related to operations and participant safety. - (Essential)
  • Develops collaborative partnerships with other college departments and external resources, including community organizations and non-profits; maintains membership with appropriate professional organizations; maintains current professional development, training, and certifications as appropriate. - (Essential)
