Hiring Range: $45,000-$53,900

Job Summary: Provides academic instruction and student academic support for the School of Health Sciences. Performs tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction including governance activities. Responsible for working collaboratively with the program director. Responsible for all clinical aspects of the Surgical Technology program under the direction of the program director, which includes the management, administration, continuous review,  analysis, and revision, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the clinical portion of the program. Maintains lab equipment and supplies. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Associate's Degree, and 5 years experience as a Surgical Technologist or, a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing Requirements:

- Valid Driver's License
- Required to be compliant with PA Child Protective Service Laws.

Hiring Range: $45,000 - $53,900

Preferred Qualifications: Community College experience
Experience with Learning Management System(s) (such as D2L, Canvas, etc.)

Job Specific Task List:

  • Works collaboratively with the clinical affiliates to support a continuing positive relationship, and to provide effective learning environments for students. - (Essential)
  • Responsible to the program director to correlate clinical education with didactic instruction, to ensure overall program effectiveness, and to ensure that program requirements are successfully completed. - (Essential)
  • Teaches Surgical Technology courses as assigned; selects, develops, and delivers curriculum, including lectures, discussion, quizzes, and exams to meet established guidelines. - (Essential)
  • Assists with program accreditation, review, evaluation, and course assessment. - (Essential)
  • Assists with budgeting process; recommends equipment and supply purchases. - (Essential)
  • Prepares course and laboratory materials; ensures content of material is relevant, and monitors proper use and care of equipment during lab exercises. Maintains lab equipment and supplies; organizes, orders materials, and arranges for repair of equipment as needed. - (Essential)
  • Participates in continuing education and professional development courses as assigned. - (Essential)
  • Evaluates clinical progress of students, completes clinical evaluation forms.  - (Essential)
  • Attends focus group discussions, division meetings, marketing events, and open houses. - (Essential)
  • Participates in college and community service activities. - (Essential)
  • Other Duties as assigned. - (Standard)
