The admissions counselor is responsible for recruiting future students through personalized communications, community interactions and recruitment events. An admissions counselor is an integral and front-facing representative of HACC. They integrate with high school and community partners and future students in the very beginning of the student's educational journey. They are the employees who provide future students with a vision of what life will be like at HACC and how to get started with the application and admissions process. Coordinator, CARE Center in various locations
This position develops, implements, and evaluates systemic interventions and referrals that ameliorate basic needs in a manner that promotes dignity and minimizes the marginalization of HACC students. The position is responsible for hosting one-on-one meetings with students, developing an individualized plan for empowerment and success, immediate assistance, and referral of students to resources related to, but not limited to housing assistance, food assistance, daily necessities, mental health assistance, legal services, and other unforeseen emergencies that impedes student success in college. The incumbent advances and maintains relationships with campus and community partners to provide comprehensive and cohesive services to HACC students, meets with students, assesses their needs, makes appropriate referrals, follows up, and tracks success. This position is required to manage CARE Center and personal HACC emails, phone calls, and walk-ins, and maintain detailed records to ensure the team is working cohesively. This position is responsible for building meaningful relationships with faculty, staff, and community partners and is expected to maintain a campus presence that includes but is not limited to classroom presentations, community partnership meetings, hosting CARE Center events, working across the college to participate in college events, creating content for social media, maintaining an inclusive office environment with resources for students, and the ability to travel to other HACC locations upon request. This position engages in professional development activities to ensure competence in social services and DEI best practices; complete professional development activities, such as memberships in professional organizations, attendance at conferences, workshops, webinars, etc.
