Job Summary: The Workforce Development Instructor – Child Development Associate (CDA) – Spanish is responsible for delivering instructional and educational support to adult learners enrolled in the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preparation program. The instructor provides instruction in Spanish to prepare students for careers in early childhood education and support their preparation for the CDA credential.

The instructor facilitates engaging, culturally responsive learning experiences that promote the knowledge and skills necessary to work effectively with young children in early childhood education settings. Responsibilities include lesson planning, instructional delivery, student assessment, progress monitoring, and providing guidance throughout the CDA preparation process. 

Minimum Qualifications:

-Masters in an Early Childhood Education or Education Field
-Bilingual in English and Spanish
-Experience teaching children and adults
-Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System Certification

Licensing Requirements:

- Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System Certification
- PA ACT-15 (Standard)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Three to five years’ experience teaching early childhood education – birth to age five
- Technical Experience – i.e.: knowledge of Zoom platform, Google Drives, etc.

Job Specific Task List:

• Develop and deliver instructional materials and lessons in Spanish aligned with CDA competency standards and program objectives. - (Essential)
• Facilitate classroom instruction, discussions, and learning activities that support the development of early childhood education knowledge and skills. - (Essential)
• Teach foundational concepts related to child development, health and safety, learning environments, curriculum planning, and professional practices in early childhood education. - (Essential)
• Support students in understanding CDA credential requirements, including the preparation of the Professional Portfolio and competency statements. - (Essential)
• Provide guidance and instructional support to students as they complete coursework, assignments, and other program requirements. - (Essential)
• Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to support academic progress and skill development. - (Essential)
• Monitor student attendance, participation, and progress, maintaining accurate instructional and program records. - (Essential)
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching strategies and instructional approaches that support adult learners with diverse educational backgrounds and language proficiency levels. - (Essential)
• Utilize instructional technology and learning management systems to support course delivery and student engagement. - (Essential)
• Communicate regularly with students regarding course expectations, assignments, progress, and available resources. - (Essential)
• Collaborate with Workforce Development staff and community partners to support program objectives and student success. - (Essential)
• Maintain knowledge of current practices, standards, and requirements related to early childhood education and the CDA credential. - (Essential)

Pennsylvania Work Location Requirement: All work, teaching, meetings, and activities related to this position must be performed within the State of Pennsylvania. This position does not offer a remote work option.
