Reporting to the assigned Academic Affairs administrator, the candidate works directly with faculty, students, and staff in the Graphic and Interactive Design and photography studios and provides operational support for the assigned programs. The coordinator must possess excellent knowledge of the field and of studio hardware and software, a professional demeanor, and strong interpersonal communication and writing skills. Primary job responsibilities include overseeing basic cleaning and maintenance of equipment and studio facilities for graphic design, photography, digital printing labs and auxiliary spaces. The candidate must have a comprehensive understanding and extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite and printing production. Additional responsibilities include ordering art supplies and supervision of students and student workers. A high level of decision making is required. This position is expected to be on campus, and remote work will not be offered.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in studio art, graphic design, or a related field
Licensing Requirements:
Valid Driver's License
PA Act-15 Clearance

Hiring Range: $21.26 - $23.91
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the full Adobe suite; familiarity with filmmaking equipment.
Familiarity or willingness to be trained with wet darkroom and photography digital and common art studio equipment.
MFA in graphic design or related field

- Monitors open labs; assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts - (Essential)
- Establishes weekly and monthly maintenance schedules; developing an inventory list; ordering supplies; creating and managing a budget; and communicating with faculty, students and administration. - (Essential)
- Assists/trains students on printing and developing class projects such as multipage books and promotional pieces ; provides technical guidance to students - (Essential)
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and to problem solve in a studio art context. Demonstrated ability to work independently, adapt to changing situations, and exercise sound judgment in a dynamic academic environment focused on student learning. - (Essential)
- Provides basic safety, and training as needed for all studio equipment - (Essential)
- Provides excellent customer service to students and faculty; supports the faculty who teach in the studios to meet the technical and operational needs of each class. - (Essential)
- Accomplish personally the upkeep of the facility; Updates and maintains studio/computer lab hardware and software, which may include but is not limited to large format printers, graphic design/video editing software, photography and film equipment; Communicate, arrange and coordinate with campus IT and Mac technicians in the installation and updating of lab software, hardware and supporting equipment. - (Essential)
