Job Summary: Provides academic instruction and student academic support for the Engineering/Technology department. Performs tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction including governance activities. Faculty in Electrical Technology program teach courses that cover basic electrical theory, residential and commercial wiring, safety, the National Electrical Code, and blueprint reading. Provides training to students seeking careers as general electricians, residential service technicians, and commercial service technicians. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Provides academic instruction and student academic support for the Engineering/Technology department. Performs tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction including governance activities.

Licensing Requirements: Please note that all teaching faculty are required to comply with PA Act 15. You will need to present completed clearances and training certificates at the time of hire. Hiring Range: Starting at $50,000

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching or training experience
Journeyman or Master Electrician license
Experience across multiple areas of electrical work (construction, maintenance, controls, etc.)

Job Specific Task List:

  • Teaches assigned Electrical Technology courses. - (Standard)
  • Participates in curriculum development and maintenance. - (Standard)
  • Provides academic support and advising to students including establishing and maintaining a schedule of office hours. - (Standard)
  • Participates in college governance by serving on joint, ad hoc, faculty, campus, division and discipline committees. - (Standard)
  • Participates in the recruitment and hiring of new faculty through participation on assigned search committees. - (Standard)
  • Participates in college and community service activities. - (Standard)
  • Participates in professional growth activities and maintains awareness of new trends and developments within areas of instructional responsibility. - (Standard)
  • Coordinate, plan, organize, and instruct academic courses according to approved course syllabus. - (Essential)

  • Keep students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance requirements. - (Essential)
