Interview Process

The interview process for this position will consist of three phases. Applicants who complete the application process and meet the position minimum requirements will be invited to interview in phase 1. Candidates will be notified of their status after each phase to confirm if they are moving forward in the selection process. 

  • Phase 1: 30-minute interview with the search committee
  • Phase 2: 30-minute interview with the search committee (different questions will be asked), 30-minute written exercise; 30-minute presentation with the Office of College Advancement team 
  • Phase 3: 30-minute interview with the vice president of college advancement

Job Summary: Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards individual prospects, alumni, emerging business leadership, corporations, corporate foundations and private foundations, focusing on philanthropic commitments of $20,000 and more to support the mission and goals of the College. This position engages in working to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate and foundation sectors and other key communities, resulting in funding for the immediate and long-term goals of the College.

Bachelor's degree and five years experience*

Job Specific Task List:

  • Manages a comprehensive and integrated collegewide fundraising program, including annual giving, major gifts and planned giving. - (Essential)
  • Provides leadership in the identification, research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors for outright and planned gifts. - (Essential)
  • Manages a portfolio of major gift prospects, including developing and making/closing major gifts annually. Prepares additional major gifts in the pipeline for the following year. - (Essential)
  • Maintains a rigorous schedule of contacts with individual prospects, alumni, corporate and foundation representatives, creating moves management plans related to them, compelling presentations and comprehensive fundraising proposals. - (Essential)
  • Plans, coordinates, implements and oversees a comprehensive and strategic government and corporate grant and sponsorship program. - (Essential)
  • Works closely with development officers, Office of College Advancement staff and other College representatives to create opportunities to build awareness among individual, corporate and foundation constituencies to build and significantly expand positive fundraising relationships. - (Essential)
  • Works in concert with the vice president of college advancement to carry out the fundraising objectives and activities of the College and HACC Foundation. - (Essential)
  • Hires, onboards, trains, develops, motivates, supervises, evaluates, disciplines, and separates staff consistent with organizational and strategic goals; designs, develops and implements staff professional development activities to increase the number, frequency and size of philanthropic donations and meet projected donor target levels. - (Essential)
  • Develops highly competitive proposals for individual prospects, alumni, corporate and foundation prospects, aligning their goals/preferences with the College's goals.  - (Essential)
  • Oversees the planning and implementation of major collegewide and HACC Foundation fundraising-related special events; performs statistical analyses and evaluation of internal and external data. - (Essential)
  • Oversees tracking and implementation of grant proposal development and implementation; plans, monitors and maintains unit budget and approve operating expenses. - (Essential)
